The Master Plan

As I refered to a to-do list for the test yesterday, I made a draft plan on how I should prepare for the test. I've failed three times so far, so I know what to do for the interview to certain degree.

The most important is five Ps, which is practice, practice, practice, practice and practice. I'm NOT kidding. This must be true because you could know through practice what you are lacking of. In other words, minimizing the gap between the reality and the ideal is crucial to achieve my goal.

In my opinion, there are a few factors to improve my speaking ability. Firstly, I need to sink the pattern of the speech into my brain. A speech includes an introduction, two bodies(or two reasons), and a conclusion. This may sound easy, but explaining the topic is quite challenging even in Japanese! Secondly, I should collect as more reasons to depict the topics as possible. There are many topics in the test that I have never considerd, so I need to think deeply before the test.

Anyway, I found that I have too many things to do untill the test day. The days when I was unable to do due to fear has gone, and time to address these challenges has come.

Vocabulary and Grammar Mistakes

  1. "to certain degree" → "to a certain degree": Missing article “a”.
  2. "The most important is five Ps" → "The most important thing is the five Ps": Missing noun ("thing") to specify what is important.
  3. "you could know through practice what you are lacking of" → "you can learn through practice what you are lacking": Use "can" instead of "could" for a general truth, and "lacking" does not need "of".
  4. "to achieve my goal" → "to achieving my goal": The correct form after "crucial to" is "achieving".
  5. "sink the pattern of the speech into my brain" → "internalize the speech pattern in my brain": "Internalize" is a more precise term for absorbing something mentally.
  6. "two bodies (or two reasons)" → "two main points (or reasons)": "Main points" is more natural and specific.
  7. "collect as more reasons to depict the topics as possible" → "gather as many reasons as possible to explain the topics": "Gather" and "as many reasons as possible" are the correct terms for this context.
  8. "The days when I was unable to do due to fear has gone" → "The days when I was unable to act due to fear are gone": Use "act" instead of "do," and "are gone" to match the plural subject.

Yesterday, after reviewing my to-do list for the test, I drafted a plan on how to prepare. Having failed three times so far, I now have a good sense of what to do for the interview.

The key to success is the five Ps: practice, practice, practice, practice, and practice. I'm not exaggerating. This is crucial because practice reveals what you're missing. In other words, closing the gap between reality and your ideal performance is vital for reaching my goal.

I believe there are a few key factors to improve my speaking skills. First, I need to internalize the speech structure: an introduction, two main points or reasons, and a conclusion. It sounds simple, but explaining these topics is tough—even in Japanese! Second, I need to gather as many reasons as possible to elaborate on various topics. Many topics on the test are things I’ve never thought about, so I need to reflect on them deeply before the exam.
In any case, I realize there’s a lot to do before test day. The days of being paralyzed by fear are over; now is the time to tackle these challenges head-on.
